When Becca told me about you, I could sense the genuine and honest connection she felt towards you – even over the phone. From day one, you have spoken light and love into her. You’ve never faltered in making her feel heard and safe, another person she can be 100% herself with. You have shown her what respect looks like from a partner and what loyalty is. Whenever Becca says your name, I feel the love she has for you, the optimistic thoughts about your future together and how she wants to experience all this world has to offer but with you by her side.

Maid of Honor Speech by Stephanie

Ever since I was told (for the second time) that I was to give a speech at your wedding, my mind has been reflecting over the last 10+ years of our friendship, not knowing where or how to begin putting into words how much this moment and you mean to me. So I apologize in advance for any rambling, as Becca knows I do, and any inevitable, emotional choke ups, as I share a piece of my heart with you all.

If anyone knows Becca, then you know how selfless and kind she is; how her laughter reverberates around the room, and how obsessed she is with cows, sharks and tacos. But what you may not know is that she is the reason why I have kept waking up everyday. She has been my sunshine on cloudy days, my confidant, my best friend, my partner in crime and most importantly my sister.

Becca and I became friends a few months after starting college and I’d like to thank our trombone professor, Mr. Schmidt, for accepting two really cool people into his studio because our friendship was inevitable. Becca and I became two peas in a pod pretty quickly and also each others cheerleaders and sounding boards.

Have you ever had that person that makes you feel safe whenever they walking to the room? Well, thats been Becca for me. She became a critical part of my “going away for college and growing up” phase and I was definitely hers, especially with new foods.

I’m very proud to say that I am the reason why she now likes tangerines, let alone knows how to peel them.

I’m pretty sure Becca helped me create more core memories than anyone else has. From laying on the grass outside our dorm hall at night and rolling around like 5 year olds without a care in the world, to belting out ballads in my car when we were feeling sad or stressed, to taking pictures for your recital on an isolated dirt road and ending up on the ground (there’s a pattern), to going through 4 different drive-thrus in one night while we took a break from studying for finals, to being the goofiest I’ve been with anyone, to picking you up from the airport when I moved to Virginia so we could celebrate our birthdays together and help me not be homesick, to laughing so hard you would snort every other second, to you picking me up at 2 am because I was crying and couldn’t sleep so I wouldn’t be alone, to having you by my side every step of the way during the start if my army career, to so many more memories I forever have engrained in my mind – you have helped shape me into the human being I am today, and for that you deserve an infinite amount of love.

Which is where John comes in! Not sure if she has broken the new yet, but now that you are married, we will have to figure out how to be neighbors for our daily dinners together. Always a package deal.

Being long distance can be challenging for a friendship, but you’ve always supported us, even before meeting. After I was able to meet you, Becca asked what I thought of you, and even though I knew her feelings for you weren’t going to waver no matter what I said, I was so happy to reassure her decision and even happier to daydream of the future together. It has also helped, might I add, that we see eye to eye on a lot of things and you take my side when Becca is being stubborn, so more brownie points for you.

Thank you, John, for loving Becca the way she NOW knows she deserves and for making her life incredibly bright. This is only the beginning and I cannot wait to see your story unfold. Never forget, I’m always watching. I’m looking forward to the memories we’ll create together. Welcome to the family.

And to my Becaroni, you’ll always be my other half. I thank God for you and our friendship and I vow t o never leave your side. I loved you then, I love you so much now, and I’ll love you for eons to come.

Congratulations and cheers to two souls becoming one.

Becca and John were married at the beautiful Primacres venue in Floral City, Florida. Believe it or not, Becca and John took this project and made it their own with the help of those around them. This venue is extra special because Johns family owns it and they have created a stunning and smooth experiences for future couples. They took charge of the decor, the photobooth and the delicious food. I was incredibly honored to not only be a part of their special day but also document it. There was a lot of running around, making sure all of the moments were being captured but also celebrating my best friend and the love of her life. The couple celebrated with their closest friends and family, people who have left such a big mark in their lives. The day was filled with so much love, laughter but most importantly faith; faith that everything was going to work out, faith in their union, faith in what God has created and has beautifully crafted together.
